David “Dave” Wilson (born 4 October 1944 in Wednesfield) is an English former professional association football player who played as a striker, for Nottingham Forest, Carlisle, Grimsby, Walsall, Burnley and Chesterfireld.

Ted played his early football for his home town club, Hednesford Rovers, he also had a short spell at West Bromwich Albion, but only played a few timers for their reserves. He was signed by Walsall in December 1896 and went on to play 73 games and score 2 goals during three years. His debut game was a bit of a disaster when starting alongside another debutant in goalie Tom Hawkins, Walsall lost 5 goals to 0 to Manchester City. Ted didn’t miss many games during those three seasons but was sold to Forest in 1899.
