Ken Hill was born in Walsall in 1938, He spent almost all of his life in and around the North Walsall area (Leamore-Bloxwich) I used to know where he lived as around ten or twelve years ago, I spent a time in Walsall Manor Hospital with his brother, who told me a lot about Ken which I have forgotten. At The time Ken was ill himself! Back to his career.
He started his football career by playing for the North Walsall Boys and North Walsall Schools football teams. He left school and joined the railways, and someone from Walsall spotted him playing for Bescot United fc and he was invited to join. He signed on at Walsall in November 1956 but had to wait for his debut until February 1959, when he played against Hartlepool United. This was the first of a total of 141 games played and 1 goal scored (against Stoke in 1962)
He moved to Norwich in 1963 for the sum of £17,000 and he was to return to the Saddlers in 1966 where I believe he finished his career.
Ken Hill was a hard working player and never gave an opponent any room to manoeuvre.
No picture available, and I cannot find anything about what he did after leaving Walsall.
