Walsall player 90. Albert William “Billy” Mays

• Albert William “Billy” Mays (18 July 1902 – 1959) was a Welsh footballer. Born in Ynyshir, he played professionally for clubs including Bristol City, Wrexham and Walsall between 1923 and 1932, making a total of 160 Football League appearances. He also made one appearance for Wales, against Northern Ireland in 1929.

I cannot find any statistics for Billy, however i still have to do a search of Walsall stats to see how many games he played for us, so keep an eye out for updates!

Billy played for Walsallfrom January1931 until the end of the season. Guring that time he played in 17 games and scored 11 goals. I know its wrong to assume but with a score to match ratio like that you have to think that he went higher, but according to the information found when he joined Walsall he was at the end of his career. If these facts are correct it leaves a mystery.
